Aside from the fact that he completely wronged the woman. It is really difficult to understand what was going through this gentleman's mind when he committed the the act that he committed. Was it a moment of frenzy? Was it something that took over him that made him act this way? Or was he completely aware of his actions? Did he feel he was so powerful and so untouchable that he would not reap the punishment of his actions? It makes me think about the people we have in power. History has shown us that many of our leaders were corrupt. Is this situation different? Was this an action of a leader? Or this an action of a man? Is power even a factor in this whole episode?
In some ways I feel sympathy for him. Because indeed this is a nightmare that he could never wake up from. To be on the highest high of society, then for all of that to come crashing down must be overwhelming. If I were him I think my heart would have imploded by now.
He probably thought that since he is so high up the social ladder he would be able to get away with his crime.

ReplyDeleteI think a lot of men are getting too involved in pornography on the web. They are getting lost in a fantasy world where sexual assault is foreplay, where the nubile hotel maid, once assaulted, throws down her dustrag and joins in. He might have gotten away an assault in a lot of countries.
