Nothing is mine anymore...
There was a time when I could be into a certain genre of music and only a handful of people would be into it. Now it seems, if some thing's even remotely good, regardless of how underground it is, it will become mainstream. So you have to be okay with the fact that the song that you love today, the one you think nobody knows is going to be the song being played in the AT&T commercial tomorrow. And that's just the sad fact that you have to accept. We all know it's because of the Internet. But that's nothing worth delving into anymore. We know. We know. We all understand nothing is safe. But I think the idea that somehow this genre of music that I'm into it somehow mine is egoistic. And I admit it's a flaw. but that's what we do. We identify ourselves with our likes and dislikes. So if my favorite genre of music becomes mainstream I feel like my own identity is violated. When I see teenyboppers dancing to the song that I have deep emotional attachments to it sucks. But oh well. I just need to get over it.
